About: Developed in the 1950s by the USDA hop breeding program at Oregon State, Cascade later became the quintessential hop in US craft beer. Known for its spicy, grapefruit aroma with soft floral notes, Cascade still ranks as one of the five most widely grown hops in the US. Though Cascade works best as a late-addition hop, it provides a pleasant, moderate bitterness when used early in the boil.
